Hi. I'm new on here. I hope I am allowed to ask this. I apologize if I'm out of line or something.
I plugged my PNY Attache (FAT16) into my parents desktop today. Well, they aren't necessarily "pc savvy" (maybe I'm not as savvy as I thought either!) and so several programs automatically popped up downloading the pics on my USB. One of them (Corel) I saw had actually downloaded so I selected them all and deleted them. I don't want all my stuff on my parents' computer. Well, that was all gravy until I realized it deleted them from my USB flash drive as well! And since the photo album thingy is apparently a trial, it has NO recovery, and when things are deleted, because it's trial, it doesn't send the deleted to the recycle bin either! I called PNY to ask them what to do and they said to Google data recovery software. Well I've downloaded 3 different free programs and each have found the files. However one program would only let me recover 3, and the other 2 programs said to "save as" so I wouldn't write over the data currently on the flash drive. Only there is no "save as" option on those programs...only "save." Can anyone tell me somewhere to download SOMETHING? Is this something I can fix? I don't want to lose all my pics from the last 4 years! Please help if you can. I would soooo much appreciate it. |
