DVD RW can read/write DVD, but cannot read/write CD

My LG DVD Writer is not working properly from the last time when power is gone while writing CD. Before the incidence, it is working properly. Now, it can Read/Write DVD nicely like before but cannot Read/Write CD anymore. Plz help me....

you might want to check with ur burning software, i use nero, and the prog ur using cud be detecting the drives, but not using the write one, give us a dxdiag of all hardware you have, ....could be a problem with read write laser

could dry deleting device from sys through dev mgr, and then reinstalling it, upgrade firmware, lemme kno...l

you may of lost the cd laser,try cleaning it

thanks for reply... i've also installed my DVD writer in another 2/3 computer, but same problem..sorry for incomplete information

then it looks like the drive has gone,if you need to burn cd replace the drive
avoid lg drives
the ones i use are
asus
liteon
pioneer
