NEC ND-6650A not seen by Windows
Hi,
Du to a virus attack, I re-installed windows (XP SP2) on my computer. At the end of the installation, Windows mentioned a problem with a device but a did not really take care of that ( ), and now my DVD drive doesn't work any more since it is not seen by windows (no DVD drive detected in the device manager). However, when I boot my computer using a linux live CD it works, and when i put a CD in the drive during a windows session I can hear the drive running for a minute. I tried to solve this problem by installing the corresponding driver (downloaded from the Dell website : "NEC Drive Firmware Flash Utility"), but it pops up with "Target NEC ND-6650A is not found correctly". I also tried to follow advices from techpro5238 (see : [SOLVED] NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A Driver Missing), but it doesn't work (no change, the drive is still not seen). Does anyone could help me ?? I hope my indications are clear ... sorry for my rough english ! |
