Not recognising disks...[MOVED FROM WINDOWS]
When I put a disk in the disk drive (windows vista 64bit) it spins up and the green light on the drive flashes.... but nothing on screen happens.
Windows recognizes the drive and I've got the drivers up to date, but it doesn't seem to recognize that there is a disk in - absolutely nothing happens on screen. I've tried a couple of games (Lost Planet, Guild Wars, Company of Heroes), a couple of CD's (Dream Theater, Slipknot, System of a Down) and a DVD (Misery) yet none are recognized. Anyone know what could be causing Vista to not realize a disk is in the drive? |

Did the computer not come with this drive installed? Have you tried cleaning the lens with a cd lens cleaner? It may just be a faulty drive, can you put it in another computer to test it that way?
