Swapped dvd drives, now i got problems
Hi all,
Mobo Asus P4P8X WIN XP SP2 Intel 2.4 I replaced my previous cd-rom drive for a newer dvd-drive burner. I am confident I installed it properly as I even paid attention to the jumper configuration. However, NOW, I can't boot my CPU the first time. I turn it on, but the screen remains black. I force shutdown it and the second time the screen turns on BUT I got an overclocking failed message and the process stalls. I hit F2 and eventually Windows will load, but this is very unpleasant now. Any suggestions what I should check? I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my installation because this never happened before. I'm thinking it's got something to do with the jumpers.. Thanks guys! |

Welcome to TSF.
![]() Unplug the computer from the wall and check the power connections at the motherboard. If the BIOS error persists - enter BIOS and load "setup defaults" (or similar). |
