Swapped dvd drives, now i got problems

Hi all,

Mobo Asus P4P8X
WIN XP SP2
Intel 2.4

I replaced my previous cd-rom drive for a newer dvd-drive burner. I am confident I installed it properly as I even paid attention to the jumper configuration.

However, NOW, I can't boot my CPU the first time. I turn it on, but the screen remains black. I force shutdown it and the second time the screen turns on BUT I got an overclocking failed message and the process stalls. I hit F2 and eventually Windows will load, but this is very unpleasant now.

Any suggestions what I should check? I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my installation because this never happened before. I'm thinking it's got something to do with the jumpers..

Thanks guys!

Welcome to TSF.

Unplug the computer from the wall and check the power connections at the motherboard.

If the BIOS error persists - enter BIOS and load "setup defaults" (or similar).
