Lost driver

I have an HP desktop model #A320N somehow when I use WMP its asking me to connect burner and restart, it never did this before. When I look under my computer it only shows DVD Drive (E:). I worked with HP tech support they had me do something and now both my drives are not running, usually when you put in the CD you can hear it run but nothing happens. Help.

Re: Lost driver

Ok I tried that and got a message the upper filters and lower filters registry values that can cause CD access problems do no exist on your computer. Click Help and Support on your computer for additional support options.

Is there anything else I can try?

you just pull them out change the jumper on the back
cd to master
dvd to slave
put the cd back on the end black plug
put the dvd back using the grey plug
to get to disk management
control panel/admin tools/computer management/disk management

Re: Lost driver

Ok so now I switched the plugs and I think some wires got disconnected and not sure where to put them back in. There are two black wires, one yellow and one red with a white connector that has P8 on it, where does this go or is this suppose to be disconnected cuz there is another set of wires that has P7 that was already disconnected went I opened it.

Re: Lost driver

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psucon...onnectors.html
you are describeing a molex power plug that goes into the drives
it is usual to have spare plugs that are not connected that are there for future upgrading
your drive requires
power plug
data cable
