dvd-drive problem

Ive posted this before but im not getting a response..

So i have a new rig and i brought my old DVD-DRIVE over to my new rig, when i try to boot from CD it says "BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" I set the first thing to boot in my BIOS as my CD Drive. Ive switched the IDE bands, and i know the Dvd drive works cause i used it in my old one and tested in a friends computer. Any ideas? This is also my first build.

THANKS.

PS: Also i dont have very powerful PSU (Getting a new one tomorw) its a 230watt, plus i have a 8400 gs, 2 gb of ram and a 2.8ghz single intel proc.

Re: dvd-drive problem

Hi kyle1212!

BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER is referring to the hard drive problem, not a dvd-drive. Can you check the cable connection on your hard drive, try to unplug and replug the cable for your hard drive and then try to restart the computer. If the same error message appear, try to change the IDE cable and reboot again. It should be detected by then
