Mistake Error Buring Audio Cds

i went to windows media player to burn a cd but when the tracks starts to burn to the cd it says writing then after a few minutes goes by it says error burning cd..an shows one song copied to the cd (which is still not there)

I have already slowed down the burn speed to the slowest speed possible but the error still pops up....Help Plz

i downloaded it an it still says error it waited like 2min an said WRITER ERROR BURNED FAILED....

is there a way to fix what the problem is on my machine?

if they are ide drives check they are running in dma mode

in the device manager click on the ide listings and check

im in the device manager but were does it say idle at or were do i check to see if its in dma mode?

go down the list to ide controllers
click on the + sign
right click on each of the listings
choose properties and look in there

okay i checked all the devices under the ide...an they say Set To Dma if available on all all of them except for one- Secondary IDE Channel in the last box under advanced settings it Current Transfer Mode:PIO Mode...

Manually Setting DMA
go to the reg. key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0001 or 0002 (depending on beeing primary[0001] or secondary[0002] ide channel)

there you modify the DWORD value of :
if the drive is on master: "MasterDeviceTimingModeAllowed" or
if the drive is on slave: "SlaveDeviceTimingModeAllowed"
to ffffffff

then go back to your device manager set your drive in IDE channel properties first back to pio and then, after confirming, again to dma ...that should do the trick[/b]
back up the registry before starting
