[SOLVED] pioneer dvdrom problem

i have an asus p2b motherboard and i recently updated my os from windows me to winxp but my dvdrom cannot read dvds. It can only read cds but dvds ist indicating blank. what shld i do? ther z no error in the device manager and the drivers seem to loaded well

try removing the upper and lower filters

check for a firmware update for the drive

thanx for the contribution guys, i think i got the answer to the problem. I removed the dvdrom and tested it with that power supply only and it didnt read the dvds again and i noticed it should be the power supply. changed my power supply to an atx one and banged it started working . i suspect my old at pwer supply couldnt supply enough voltage for the dvdrom
