[SOLVED] Good DVD disc with data files is not seen by my drive/OS
OS: XP home with SP2
I have a Sony DVD RW DRU-530A. I can burn DVD's with data using Record Now! or Nero. (The idea is that I am making copies of important files for backup.) However, when I insert the DVD disk into the drive, the operating system does not see the disk. If I take the same DVD disk into my Dell laptop, it comes up just fine. I have added InCD to my computer, but no luck. I have not touched the hardware. Any ideas? http://www.techsupportforum.com/imag...ies/1-sigh.gif ![]() Thanks -dcruzer |

Re: Good DVD disc with data files is not seen by my drive/OS
Thanks Dai for replying.
I HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM. http://www.techsupportforum.com/imag...lies/1-eek.gif ![]() I installed Nero from the installation disk and added in everything on the disk. I checked for updates on the Nero site and installed the update for InCD. Everything now works as it should. That is, I can create DVD's with just data files and these DVD's ware recognized by the Windows XP. Anyone else suffering from this problem, might want to try removing any CD/DVD burning software and then reinstall it, including everything on the CD. My guess is these actions will clean up issues like the one the Dai mentioned. -Dave |

Dunno. I have a fairly old version of Nero/InCD and the system is relatively old, too. I think that uninstalling and reinstalling any package would have worked, but I'm not about to test that theory.http://www.techsupportforum.com/imag...es/1-smile.gif
