dood, i have that same problem with my drive (LiteOn DH-20A4P08C) i just bought it yesterday...its the IDE and not the SATA, but it wont run ne disk at all. iv tried music discs iv tried games discs and iv tried DVDs, but it still just shows the regular "DVD-RAM Drive" icon in "My Computer" it wont auto run ne thing either. the drive just makes loading noises and the mouse icon changes as iv loading the disk, but hours go by and still nothing more.

have you connected it toa 80 wire ide cable and jumpered it correctly
can you see it listed i the bios try removing the upper and lower filters scroll down to how here http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=k...060&x=12&y=13#
