Wireless USB conflicting with USB drives
New to the forum, and I have an interesting problem. I recently installed a new Sony external DVD-RW drive via USB 2.0 (yes, my PC is USB 2.0 enabled). I also have a D-Link wireless USB adapter DWL-G122 revA2. I installed the drive no problem, but when I rebooted, the drive doesn't show up in My Computer and shows up as "Unknown Device" in Device Manager. If I unplug the D-Link and reboot, the drive comes up correctly in My Computer (and works). I am then able to plug in my D-Link which installs properly.
Is there a way to get around having to unplug the D-Link everytime I reboot? I also use a Maxtor USB external hard drive and a Kingston USB flash drive both of which work when the DVD-RW works and show up as "Unknown Devices" if I neglect to unplug the D-Link on reboot. Prior to installing the DVD-RW, though, this wasn't an issue. I have all the most recent Chipset drivers, and I have tried deleting the USB Root Hub and Controllers in the Device Manager, then rebooting. Same issue still. Also have all current Windows updates. Any thoughts on the issue are greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
