DVD/CD ROM drive not recognized
I have a Toshiba Satellite A75-S226 runnin Windows XP. It's not reading the DVD/CD ROM drive I have installed in it. The drive does not appear in the device manager or in BIOS. When it's inserted, it lights up. The drive lights up and spins when I put a disc in, but it does not read it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: DVD/CD ROM drive not recognized
Welcome to TSF.
![]() I'm not sure I understand this 100%. Have you installed a new internal DVD drive? If so - did you have the same problem with the old drive? Could be a loose connection. Take the drive out - then put it back. Or - is it an external USB drive? If so - try another USB cable. |
