cant use new dvd rom drive

installed a new ATAPI DVD drive and computer sees it but with exclamation point in yellow and it says "Cannot load the device driver for this hardware The driver may be corrupted or missing Code 39" I have tried updating driver and still nothing Please help

have you used an 80 wire cable on it with the
blue grey and black plugs
set the jumpers correctly on the drive
right click on it's listing in the device manager and choose uninstall
reboot the computer and then check it again in the device manager

You can also try updating the firmware of the drive. If this is a new drive then it can be also be a dead drive.
