Pioneer DVD drive reads CDs but not DVDs
I have a Toshiba Satellite running Vista Home Premium. It is been a while since I tried to burn a DVD. My dvd drive is Pioneer DVR K17LF.
The burning software is the one which came bundled with the laptop. I have noted that others have faced similar problems and have followed the solutions presented in those threads. I have uninstalled iTunes, Quick Time player I have uninstalled the device driver from the Device Manager and restarted the laptop I have removed the upper and lower filters from the registry. My recovery disc is a DVD. I am not able to boot from the CD/DVD. I am not able to reinstall the burning software as I can not read the recovery disc. It however reads CDs. Please can someone suggest a solution. Is the drive faulty? The warranty is still available. Do I have to get the drive replaced? TIA |
