cd problem

I seem to have a similar problem to garebear09: my cd burner just quit. Device manager says its there, and sees no problems with the device. It will not read disks however even tho' the busy light flashes. I tried swapping the unit out but no joy and same result as above. Lens is clean, cables are ok so ? On that note, how does one access bios in xp?

Thanks in advance,

mosander

Re: CD/DVD Drive isn't being registered?

Hi cgmosander!!

You can see the butto that you press during startup to choose the BIOS options. Otherwise you can try deleting the upper filter and lower filter as well

Re: cd problem

you access the bios by pressing the key listed during the post screens usually the delete key
if you tried the drive in another computer and it is the same
time to replace it

Re: cd problem

Hmmm........This problem could definitely be a faulty drive. Try swapping the drive and see if issue occurs on the other drive.
