I have a Pioneer DVR-111D DVD-RW with an IDE backing. I just got a new computer that doesn't have any open IDE controllers on the motherboard, but instead has SATA controllers. I went to my local computer store and asked for assistance in a conversion method between IDE and SATA, but they only gave me the option of getting a PCI-E IDE controller card, which I don't think I have room for.
I really don't want to get a new DVD drive (personal reasons). In your opinion, what is the cheapest fix for this? I saw a USB 2.0 to IDE cable adapter online, but it seems a little steep. I do have some open USB 2.0 ports. I would prefer a fix under $20, but please give me all options. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. |
