Re: CD-Rom

Hi yyet1012!!

Try to check the cd-rom, whether it is listed in BIOS? If its not detected in BIOS, you may have to reseat the cable for it. (post here back so that I can guide you further on reseat cable)

If its detected in BIOS, boot into normal windows. Is it shown on My Computer? (if its not shown there, let me know again)

If its shown on My Computer, maybe you can delete the upper filter and lower filter, refer to this page:
Lower Filter/Upper Filter Deletion

Re: CD-Rom

Yes, it is listed in the bios and enabled. It is shown on My Computer. When I put a cd in the drive, click on the drive icon in My Computer, it shows a blank screen. When we try the filters, will let you know.

Many thanks.

Re: CD-Rom

I went to the register for edit as instructed. I didn't find any upper filter entry to delete and no lower filter entries to delete. There wasn't any u/l filters.bak entries, either. Nothing to delete.
Am keeping you updated.
Thanks again.

Re: CD-Rom

Hi again yyet1012

Did you try to uninstall and restart the computer before doing that?

Also try to do what dai said, by using that drive on the other computer. See if the drive worked on other computer.

Re: CD-Rom

You found the problem. My husband took the CD-Rom out and installed it in an old Gateway computer. It didn't work so he put the Gateway CD-Rom in my computer and it worked.
Many, many thanks for taking your time to help me.
