When I plug in a flash drive to the USB port(s), I get the following message "The specified service does not exist as an installed device." How do I get the USB ports to function again?

Re: Failed USB ports
Yes, there is a yellow flag next to the flash drive. I have tried to do an "update" driver on all the usb ports, but it appears that the driver is current. I have checked the bios and the setting for the USB is "enabled." I will try a cmos reset as you suggested.
What is odd however is that I have a USB hard drive plugged in that works. Yet, when I plug a known good flash drive in the same port it does not work. Can you explain this oddity? thanks, Mike |
