CD/DVD drive problem

Hi everyone, I've searched and have not found an answer to my specific problem.

I have an IBM Thinkpad R40 and it has a built in CD/DVD drive and burner. It's been working fine for years but only now did I realize something...

1. My CD drive doesn't eject anymore, no matter how many times I click 'eject' or press on the button on my CD drive.

2. On 'Properties', my CD/DVD drive is now labeled 'CDUDF' and when I put in a CD (by using a burning program like IBM Now), it just says 'UDF DLA'. I only remember the DLA part but it's spelled out on my drive (digital L-something)

It has not happened before, but just recently my dad installed a roxio program into this laptop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's frustrating not getting to use the drive when all my important files are in CD format. Thank you

Re: CD/DVD drive problem

get a paperclip and unwind it. use it to open the disc bay by putting it through that small circle on the door of the bay. not all comps have them good luck.
