My OS is Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
With all All required Microsoft security hotfixes
Compaq computer
1.47 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
2 installed hard drives + a Seagate FreeAgentDesktop USB hard drive

HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8240B
LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-1635S

I am having a problem writing to both my dvd rw (LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-1635S )and my generic cd rw (HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8240B )
I have never had a problem before but all of a sudden they both quit writing to cd’s I can read from them and play music cd’s using them but they won’t write to cd’s I tried making an audio cd for my wife last night and I went thru 5 cds getting burn errors I used both windows media software and Nero software that came with the lite-on dvd/cd writer getting the same errors. Could the problems be caused by any of the recent microsoft security updates?
