Can't see flash drive after loading file from iMac
I have a 256MB lexar jump drive that I have used with my PC desktop and laptop. I loaded a file from a new iMac (using Word-Office 2004 for Mac). THe Mac saw the drive fine and I was easily able to copy the file. however when I went to load it from my jump drive to my PC laptop, it would make a sound like it was connected via the USB but no drive noted anywhere on My Computer. Did it get reformatted when I put it into the Mac? If so, how can I get it reformatted without losing the data--of course, that would assume I can get the PC to even see it again in which case I wouldn't need to reformat it :-). Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Can't see flash drive after loading file from iMac
Seems unnecessary, I use my flash drives between mac and pc's all the time. I don't know that I would purchase software.
Can you plug it back into your iMac and find out what file system is on it? Maybe it formatted it...Id be pissed. Another thing OSX does, without your permission. Last edited by alt; 12-19-2007 at 11:06 AM. |

Re: Can't see flash drive after loading file from iMac
You will need to check 'properties' on the drive. In OSX, once you see it mount...should show up on the desktop. Use the right click shortcut...which I believe is the "Option" key + click.
