blank disks not recognized
I have a Dell Dimension 9150 (2 yrs old) and suddenly neither of my disk drives recognize a blank CD or DVD. (regardless of manufacturer) On the otherhand, both Drive D (top - reader) and E (bottom - burner) will recognize or open disks that have media already on them. ie Adobe Photo Shop Elements. I've run the Dell diagnostics, fully (almost 2 hours) and everything checks out OK!! Obviously something's not OK though, and I'm not smart enough to figure it out. Device manager shows nothing. There have been no hardware add-ons, nor has the case been opened.
Anyone else out there run into this kind of problem? Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, |
