Roll Eyes floppy disk problems

My floppy disk has been exposed to a light source and now when i try to access the work saved on the disk my computer says it needs formatting, which it doesn't as this was done when i bought it. Please help as i need the work on the disk for my studies. How do i over come this problem?

Re: floppy disk problems

The disk was on the table and was placed near the lamp which was switched on.

Re: floppy disk problems

The light would not have anything to do with your problem. Try flipping your ribbon cable over, you might have gotten it on upside down.
