I have a 500g Western Digital SATA internal harddrive in a Beyond Micro external enclosure connected via USB2.0. This HD was formatted/partitioned/setup in Ubuntu. I believe it is FAT32, I am not positive but very sure about it, I remember thinking "oh, I'll format it as fat32 so I can use it on any PC." Currently I use it on my PC at college which has Mandriva 2007 Powerpack installed on it, and it works fine and dandy. So I come home where my dad has a PC with Windows XP on it and plugged in my HD...nothing, no sound played, nothing extra showing up in Disk Management, nothing that I can see in device manager. I can plainly see my little 1 gb thumb drive show up in both Device Manager and Disk Management. The enclosure and HD are on, the green power light is on and I can hear the drive spinning and feel it get warm. I have tried a different USB cable and it changed nothing. I have unplugged and replugged many times. I am baffled, I don't even know where to start solving the problem besides posting it(very unusual for me).

I have just installed Windows XP on my own PC now, with SP2 integrated. The external HD still doesn't work but it is now visible in device manager and Disk Management. It shows it as unpartitioned free space. Any suggestions?
