MP3 formatting problem

ok i bought a realy cheap knock off japanese MP3 player and i cant format it. when i try to format it all the music files get deleted how do i format it to work

it is a i-Platinum 1.5" 1G pod MP3 MP4 video player930
if you can help me that would be much appritiated.

Some of those have the firmware modified to show an amount of ram higher than what they can actually hold.

Ram is the memory that holds the songs on your player. Like for instance, you said that it was the 1gb model, maybe it's only 512mb but they labelled it as 1gb and set it to display that, but when you try to put music on it, it craps itself and doesn't work. Did you read that thread?

Are you doing it with the tool that came on the cd, or with windows as a drive letter?

I would give the cd utility a go- maybe windows is putting some filesystem settings on it that the device's firmware can't handle.
