[SOLVED] DVD burner and the CRC error
I am getting a frequest "data error (cyclic redundancy check)" when I try to reload DVD data back to the hard drive. This data is files that I burned to DVDs for archiving purposes. The DVD drive is on a new Dell - Samsung - I am getting this on roughly 20% of the DVDs I try to restore and on a rare occasion on a CD. Music and movie files mostly.
The drive has a grinding sound and the media seems hot to the touch when it is ejected. Dell wants me to clean the drive which I do regularily but I think there are other problems. Suggestions? |

Re: [SOLVED] DVD burner and the CRC error
from my experiences, what typically causes the grinding is the drive belt that moves the IR reader will jam up, but im not sure why the disc would be warm to the touch...
