FA402A Mitsumi Media Drive & VISTA
Hello, this is my first post. I found this forum in a Google search.
I have the above drive installed om my P5AD2 running Vista and it works great reading and writing CompactFlash and other media. The only problem I'm having is when putting the system in standby/sleep mode the monitor, hard drive and fans will turn off then instantly power back on. I know it's the media drive because when I unplug it from the motherboard Vista will go to sleep and stay in that state until the power button is pressed. I have looked at all the various settings in device manager to make sure all the "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" are all deselected. I have looked in the BIOS for any possible settings that might make a difference. I use the sleep function on my computer a lot and I like my working media drive so what can I do to further troubleshoot this problem? |

Re: FA402A Mitsumi Media Drive & VISTA
OK I knew my question was probably a tough one but I was able to troubleshoot all the way to a resolution.
As it turned out the Asus P5AD2 had jumper switches for all 8 USB ports set to +5V. I changed the jumper to +5VSB (SB = standby) for the port the media drive is connected to and now the system will go to sleep (standby) and stay that way until the power button is pressed. I hope this information will be helpful to others with the same or similar problem. |
