no disk

I am having a similar problem and tried what was suggested by koala. However, the registry shows now lowerregistry keys.

If you managed to delete the upperfilters, reboot and see if it's fixed.

It still does not work. I can't do a system restore because some moron removed anything to do with windows as far as system info, restore, updates and things like that. Trying to find my cd to do a reinstall.

in the device manager uninstall the drive
then right click and scan for h/ware changes
