DVD Drive Problem

Today my DVD driver suddenly stopped playing dvd's. And when I attempt to access the drive through the "My Computer" method it says theres no disc inserted when I right click explore. I already tried using system restore, and that didn't help. Is there anything else I can do to fix this situation? Thanks.

Edit: Also in Media Player Classic when I click Open DVD I get the error message "cannot find DVD directory".
