Disk not recognised in D drive?
When I insert a cd into my D drive on my Packard Bell desktop computer it does not spin or open? I do not get any error messages it just doesn't seem to recognise that there is a disk in the drive? I have looked in 'My computer' and it just shows the D drive and not the disk that is in it. I am running windows xp home, please can anyone help?

Re: Disk not recognised in D drive?
did you try restarting your system?? also try this
right click on an empty area in My Computer and click on Properties, then click the Hardware tab, then click on Device Manager, select the first item on the list (ussually with the icon of a pc) by left-clicking on it once...the from the Action menu click on "Scan for hardware changes"...once its finished scanningcheck if there a yellow question mark or red exclamation mark on the list, if not close device Manager and try inserting a cd again... |

Re: Disk not recognised in D drive?
I've tried everything that you have suggested, there is no yellow question mark, I scanned for hardware changes and re-inserted the cd, but it still is not reading it, I can hear a slight click click noise but it doesn't spin?
