Re: video camera to pc!! help!!

What program are you using to capture video?
Have you checked the device manager for problems?

After you installed the card, did Windows find it and load drivers for it?

Re: video camera to pc!! help!!

The first thing I check is to make sure it's seated fully in the slot.

Next is to try it in a different slot.

Last it to take it back where I got it and try to exchange it for one that works.

Re: video camera to pc!! help!!

did you load the drivers for it? it shoudl be listed in device manager as a 1394 port, or as an unknown device with the yellow question mark next to it.

Re: video camera to pc!! help!!

You should be able to do everything you want using Windows Movie Maker. There are also several shareware (free to try, some with limits) applications. I downloaded some from download.com a while ago, but had no luck working with any of them due to them not supporting my dazzle 150. The application I use most is Pinnacle Studio. It's very easy to use, but can be somewhat temperamental regarding capture quality through the dazzle. I'm still using version 10, but I know version 11 is out. (Version 9 is less temperamental for capturing, but it's menu builder is limited.)

Re: video camera to pc!! help!!

thank you guys for the reply
actually the device is listed in device manager as 1394 and has no yellow question mark and it just say working properly. Also when open movie maker and go to load my vid camera i get an errar message saying my vi cam wasn't detected.
My vid cam is didgital panasonic NV-DS60 and i checked all the guides on how you connect it to pc, i did every thing correct but it still wont work.
anyway im taking the firewire card back to the seller tomorrow, and now im gonna try out the pinnacle studio.
thank you again.

Re: video camera to pc!! help!!

Looks like it's not the firewire card problem after all. Actually, i got another card but im still having the same problem.lol
do you think thats related to bios or motherboard??? probably it needs to be updated, because it should work without any problem, but ?????? :-( ??????
anyway i'll just leave it if there's no solution.
thanx alot guys, appreciated.
