[resolved]My DVD and CDRW wont load.
I have two optical drives, a NEC NR-7800A, which is a CDRW and a Samsung DVD ROM SD-616. The computer does properly load these devices. They wont operate. When I click MY COMPUTER the devices are not listed. In the device manager both devices have yellow exclaimation marks in front of them. If I uninstall them and reboot, the computer states that new hardware is found and the names for both devices appear followed by an error message stating that they did not load properly and may not work. The yellow marks are then back when I reopen the device manager.
I tried useing Windows Update and tried looking for new drivers on the Samsung and Nec sites all to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks. David |

Re: My DVD and CDRW wont load.
Hi DSMargolis,
Welcome to the forum, Were these drives working before or did you just install them. If you did just install them did you put them on the same EIDE cable and set the jumpers for each device properly? Let me know. Thanks, Bill |

Re: My DVD and CDRW wont load.
Wow!! I can't believe it. Uninstalling the buffers as you suggested completely fixed the problem. The drives are working fine now. I've trying to fix this thing for two days. Thanks alot. Good work!
