VHS to DVD
I have an old movie I made when I was a kid on VHS, and I would relaly like to put it on DVD, and also on my comp as a file so edit it up a little with my editing program. How would I go about doing this?

-I bought a (cheapest) combination VCR-DVD Recorder -I put the tape in and dub (record) it to the DVD -I put the DVD I made into my computer DVDRW and imported the relevant files into Windows Movie Maker. - Edited as desired - Burned the resulting video to another DVD-R Others may have different ways to do this, but this is working for me. Some of my tapes are 20+ years old, so the quality is whatever it is. I understand there are much more expensive devices that could 'clean up' really old tapes better, but my budget won't allow it. Good luck!

Im pretty sure you can find a cheaper one. I got mine at best buy for $30. But if you dont have a DVD burner the combination VCR/DVD recorder would be the best option. I dont recommend getting the cheapest one. I did and it worked for about 7 months(piece of crap!!!) ![]() **edit** now that I think about it it wouldnt be the best option. You could get a DVD burner and the a/v converter for under $100 adn you would spend 200+ for the combination recorder.
