Cd/dvd Duplicator
Hi, i dont know what section this is meant to be in but i am wanting to build a cd/dvd duplicator that I can connect to the computer. The only way I have found out to connect it is to buy a duplicator card and then a usb connector from the controller card to the computer. My intention is that I house all the cd drives in another case and I would like to use lightscribe drives (preferably LiteOn LH-20A1H) and I wondered if anybody knows of a controller that is compatible with these drivews, or knows of another way to connect them to my computer via usb another way (possibly a usb card that all the drives connect to?)
Many thanks in advance Lewis Urwin |

Re: Cd/dvd Duplicator
Basically I wish to build the Aleratec Duplicator http://www.discread.com/cd-duplicati...licator-tower/ as they use Lightscribe drives (www.lightscribe.com) and I will be using software called Droppix that can burn the same information to different drives at the same time, acting as a duplicator. I would house around 7 drives in a seperate case (for ease and to be able to add fans to the case in case of overheating) and then connect this via usb to my computer, where it would recognise it as 7 different drives (as if they were just installed in my computer) sorry if i am confusing you
Many thanks for your help Lewis Urwin |

Re: Cd/dvd Duplicator
Howdy!
![]() Did you ever get this straitened out? I'm curious about the same topic. I built a 1 to 7 CD duplicator a few years ago at my church. Recently, the controller died, and I replaced it with a DVD/CD controller card, so I could eventually convert it to a DVD duplicator and not JUST a CD duplicator. For now, however, we're only doing CDs with the duplicator. I noticed that the controller supports USB connection to a computer. So I am wanting to find out what is required to connect that duplicator to the computer, and use it from the computer. Does it require certain software, or some sort of adapter or what? Thanks for any info - of course, I'll repost in a new thread if I don't hear anything in this one. |

Re: Cd/dvd Duplicator
Just in case you were still planning to follow up on that project... here's one example of lightscribe compatible dvd duplicators/controllers. http://vinpowerdigital.com/Products/...erCategory.asp
Sata's the way to go these days for connecting drives for duplication setups IMHO. |
