dvd rom acting up again.
PX-716A plextor (revisited)
i found out what is the cause of the issue with their drive, from their website. The LED blinks amber at me two times. per their site: Auto adjustment failed Cannot read a stamped disc or initialize a CD-R/RW disc because the drive cannot properly configure the focus and track adjustment settings their solution: Please follow all steps outlined below: 1. Re-boot your computer. Check again. 2. Make sure the disc is not upside down or scratched 3. Try a "known good" disc that can be read in another drive or could be read previously in this drive 4. If this is a recordable or rewritable disc, try another one from a different manufacturer i've rebooted the pc, and the discs that have played fine before, no longer play on it, no matter the disc type. I'm not sure i want to fork out the money for another drive, so i'm hoping you guys may have a better solution for me? http://www.plextor.com/english/suppo...6A-SAandUF.htm |
