Dvd-rom issues pls advise [RESOLVED]

Hi guys. I've burned some data dvd's, using the dvd burner that I have on my laptop and when I try to see those files on the 2 older desktops that I have none of the dvd rom's can read them. Those dvd's work fine on my laptop and on another laptop that I've tried them on, so first I thought that it could be some sort of a tech issue ( newer stuff not being compatible with the older or whatever). But then I've tried a dvd that a friend of mine burned for me last year on his laptop and both my desktop's dvd rom's read that.
There are no problems reported by the device manager on any of the computers.
Is there any way that I can fix this? I'd appreciate very much any any info or help. Thanks

Hi,

What format did you burn the DVDs in? Were they data DVDs, video DVDs, etc.? What program did you use?

I've user nero 6 and they were data dvd. I managed to fix my problem by updating the firmware.
