SD Memory Card
hi. i am running windows xp media center edition on a hp. it has the sd slot in the front. i was using a 1gb sd memory card for my photos but then i found a deal on amazon, $20 for 2gb. so i bought it. i didn't know that it was coming from south korea when i bought it. long story short, i have a sandisk 2gb memory card that won't be read by my computer and i have some important photos on it. how can i get my computer to read the memory card or at least how can i get the photos off the memory card? i know the drive isn't broken because i can still read my 1 gb memory card which also holds photos. thanks for any help.

Re: SD Memory Card
i have some more info on this problem. i went to CVS and transfered the pics to a disc, meaning that CVS's computer read the memory card. i also no longer care if i lose the pictures that are on the memory card. any help is greatly appreciated.

Just helped someone with a similar issue the other day, turned out they got a new card reader and it was then able to read the card, your being able to read it on another machine suggests it may be the same for you.

Re: SD Memory Card
Hi,
I'm pretty sure you got the same problem as me - your card reader is not able to read cards with a higher capacity than 1GB. My 2GB SD card will not work on my laptop, but a 512MB one will. When you buy a SD card reader, you must check that it compatible with the high capacity cards. |

Just search in eBay, USB SD Card reader, you'll find one. They are pretty cheap as well. Check that it is compatible with 2GB cards though, if it doesn't say in the auction, ask the seller. |
