Getting BSoDs when ripping DVDs with LITE-ON SH-16A7S
I just purchased a LITE-ON SH-16A7S (SATA) DVD burner and have been having trouble ripping DVDs. The first five or so I ripped gave me no problems, but lately I get a MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION BSoD after about 1/3 to 1/2 of the rip (with either ImgBurn or DVDFab Decrypter). I also have this problem when verifying DVDs with ImgBurn, so I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the drives ability to read DVDs. I've not yet had any problems burning or simply playing DVDs with the drive. My older, PATA interface DVD-ROM rips and verifies DVDs just fine. System specs are below.
XP Pro Athlon 3500+, 2.2 GHz 1 gig RAM, 2x APACER 512MB (PC 2700) Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro-SLI Mobo, nForce 4 SLI chipset WD WD2500JS HD (SATA) nVidia GeForce 6800 GS Turbolink 500W PS Might this be a problem with overheating? Or the SATA interface? Some sort of conflict with the HD? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Last edited by OjBinge; 04-03-2007 at 07:51 AM. |
