Re: Cd Drive Help

Have you gone into "control Panel"-"add hardware" and click to see if windows finds the drivers for you?

Have you downloaded the latest firmware update for your particular make of drive?

Have you recently opened the case and maybe dislodged the connections to your drive?

Have a look in Device Manager to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks...control panel-system-hardware-device manager...

Re: Cd Drive Help

When in device manager, on the icon for your drive-have you tried rollback driver,reinstall-update driver-or scan for hardware changes

A few weeks ago-my drive totally disappeared and i ended up taking the cable out and putting it back and it worked-even though i had not even touched it!!

What about the firmware update?

Re: Cd Drive Help

is the drive showing in the BIOS?

Can you try another drive to see if that works?...how old is the drive-maybe its just given up the ghost-though we hope we can sort it before admitting to that!!
