cd burning
I don't know if this is the right forum, but I am having trouble burning CDs that don't skip. I have Nero 7, which I have not been pleased with. I also have an old version of Roxio, which isn't on my computer yet. Sometimes I "grab" the CD tracks with audiograbber. I can't find the right program or combination to give me a good CD.
Thanks for any help. |

Re: cd burning
the moderator wil take care of moving this if needed. You have alot of variables here... What is the format of the audio you are trying to burn? Is it your intention to make a fully cd player compatible audio disk? that will of course increase just say a mp3 to a very large file size. you normally can fit 12-15 tracks on a 700mb cdr.
I am not sure if having an older version is that critical but if you are expecting format conversions to the cd standard, then I would say the newer the better. you can always download the nero 7 trial. that program has everything in it. my personal choice i must say. but perhaps you would like to share a bit more about the audio... for instance if your source is 22kHz and you try to make that compatible with a cd, that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. remember 44.1 is what it expects. most mp3z will come that way at a minimum of 128kbs. again i am not sure of your source. maybe you can elaborate.

Re: cd burning
Make your life simple... In nero, choose your CD/DVD recorder as "IMAGE RECORDER" and then use that copy cd option. It puts it on the hard drive in a .nrg format. Then burn it with Nero to the new CD.
I have a personal favorite I have used for years for audio ripping, extraction, and converting. It's not free but it is inexpensive. Have a look at this: Check this out
