Re: dvd rom failure

Hi,

Have you made sure the CD/DVD drive was set to first in the boot order of the BIOS?

I cant access that hyperlink.
I also have a problem with the DVD ROM. It reads CDs but does not read DVDs:
-I insert a movie or PC DVD-ROM games such as BF2(TM)
-Autoplay does not function
-I go to 'Run' and type D:\Autoplay.exe, which replys "there is no disk in the drive."
-then I go to My computer to see whats going on, double click on the CD/DVD E:
-the system freezes, until I exit the program and eject the disk.

Whats going on?
I dont know much about PC indept, therefore I must rely on you guys.
Help me out please!

Re: dvd rom failure

If it is under warranty take it back and get another. In my experience, if it will read CD but non DVD them something is wrong with the laser inside of it.

Just my opinion.
