New external 2.5 in enclosure

I just bought a 2.5 in enclosure and on a vista box, it will see the drive but will not initialize. On an XP box it is recognized and apparently drivers are installed but then it fails. On a 2000 box it does nothing. Im not sure what the problem may be.

not all enclosures will have microsoft fully recognize it and use a generic driver.
please provide the manufacter and part number and I'll look for a driver outlet. but don't be surprised if there isn't a vista driver available yet. THis is happening to people constantly. I will be happy to look for you though.
