Compatibility question
Hi:
I'm planning on upgrading my current CD-RW (came with my Dell Dimension 3000) to a DVD/CD-RW combo drive. My burning software is RecordNow 7.3. Will that software work with a combo drive? If so, will it work with all drives or only certain brands? I'm planning on buying from a discount type of place that sells OEM drives with no software. (I'm assuming that I will be able to d/l the drivers I need from the manufacturer's website as well.) Also, am I correct in assuming that all removable drives (in N America) have the same cable inputs (1 big one for data, 1 small one for power)? I don't want to buy a drive and discover I can't install it. Thanks in advance!

Re: Compatibility question
Just about any cd, dvd, or combo should work automatically on XP. If you post a link to the actual drive from wherever you are getting it i can tell you for sure. As for RecordNow I haven't actually used it but from what I have seen it should work just fine with pretty much any drive.

Yeah they all look like they should work just fine. My personal suggestion would be to go with the Memorex one; they usually have good products. Have fun burning stuff! lol
