MP3/External Hard drive problem
Hi All,
I have a Sandisk MP3 player and an external Iomega USB hard drive. For some reason, I cannot get both devices to work simultaneously. I have changed USB ports, but that didn't do anything. There is no conflict that I can see from the Resource Manager. A tech I spoke to at Iomega suggested it was an IRQ port conflict, but I have no idea how to change that. Has anyone run into this problem? Anyone have any suggestions? Mscape |

Thank you 8210GUY, but I tried both modes on the Sansa player and both yeild the same results.
And FREDDYHARD, unfortunately, the hard drive didn't require any drivers. I just unplugged all USB devices and re-installed everything and even that didn't work. I've just hit a wall. |

one other thing i always set in the BIOS is where it asks if the 'OS is plug n play', i always specify 'NO'. that way the mobo configures most devices and not windows

My suspect is that you are running low on power on your USB ports. Go into device manager and open the properties of the USB root hub. Click the Power tab and check the status with different combinations of the peripherals.
