There were some loose wires. That was Not the problem tho... I tightened them and one of them acidently restarted the comp. Anyway, I tightened them and after it started back up, there was still no disc being read. I'll use my xbox until this is figured out, but help is still appreciated... Anything else that could be wrong?

Spin Up? Usually when I start with a CD it lights up for about 20 secs. It still does that, but the CD doesnt play and isnt read.Does that mean its dead? If so, is there a way to fix that without getting a new computer?

Dead CD drive for sure. Either the laser has had it or there's something wrong in the electronics. Either way it needs to be replaced. Get yourself a new one (best to get a DVD burner for more versatility) and install it.

An external drive, while a handy gadget, is quite a bit more expensive than an internal and there are still quite a few systems that won't boot from one. I have one myself (LG DVD burner) and love it - but I still have internal drives in both my working machines.
