DVD-ROM/Cineplayer will not play DVD

I have a Dell Dimension E10 running xp. I have played dvds on multiple occations but yesterday it stopped playing them. I am using cineplayer which came loaded on the pc. It recognizes the dvd but will not play it, or it will play the dvd but without the audio. The drive does play cds and it does recognize data on a disc it is just the dvds that are a problem. Could this be a problem with cineplayer?
