umm my computer isn't registering the DVD+/-RW driv i tried to install

umm i need help to find out whats wrong. i think i need an extra plug, but i don't really know, i don't know what the plugs are called either.. so i'm in need of a lot of help

Hi aznshadowninja6,

We don't have enough information to help you at this time. Tell us what you connected to the drive, what cables you used, and exactly what it does when you turn on the computer? Did you set any jumpers on the drive, or just put it in the computer as it came? Also, if you put it on a ribbon cable, what else is on that cable? I am sorry, but I don't know what you mean when you say you need an extra plug. Do you mean an extra power plug?
