~first post~ DVD-RW : Reads nothing.

Okay, this problem has appeared out of nowhere, and it wasnt here a few days ago. I have this Dvd-RW (ASUS DRW-16083PS) which i just bought, and no matter what disk i put in, nothing work. I tried to uninstall it from the system, restarted, then it located it, but still reads nothing. I tried to update the driver, but i already have the most updated one. Device manager shows no problem. What is wrong with it???

Please help.

do a system restore to an earlier date when it was working ok
there are no magic wands to wave around, the only way to find out if it is the drive itself or the computer is to test it in another computer
