Device Manager Problem
Hi,
I've got a problem with my DVD burner, so thought I'd check whether or not it was set for DMA. I went into Device Manger and opened IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, but instead of the normal channels that it shows, there was just one entry for NVIDIA nForce IDE controller. How can I get back to checking each channel? Perhaps I'm being thick, but it is 3.30 am here Thanks in advance, Pilot. |

Hi Cellus,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, both my DVD drives are correctly shown in Device Manager and are working correctly (according to Properties). The problem I've got is that when I try to burn an image using Nero Burning Rom I get an I/O error and my machine hangs with the DVD drive light flashing. I tried burning the image with ImageBurn and got the same result, so it's not Nero that's at fault, but I did a complete reinstall of Nero just to make sure. I then tried copying data to the DVD drive and that worked fine. Regards, Pilot. |
